RDL envisions a society where children attain their basic needs, education, and health care. Children achieve equity and equality to improve their lives and the society at large. RDL also has a vision to empower young girls and boys to become productive and responsible citizens by providing their needs. Finally remove barriers of class and privilege to make the citizens of Ethiopia agents of positive change.

Primary school enrollments in African countries are among the lowest in the world. Education in most of Africa is adversely affected by limited funds and lack of adequate numbers of teachers, classrooms, and learning materials.

The Redefine Life Foundation’s
mission is to empower the underprivileged children of Ethiopia by providing them the necessities such as foods, clothing, shelter, and education. In addition we work to ensure the mental stability needed to take advantage of the various opportunities for a better future. RDL targets children who have been left on their own as a result of losing their parents or those whose parents are unable to provide for them for them. Finally  RDL works to remove barriers of class and privilege to make the citizens of Ethiopia agents of positive  change.

The main
objective of the organization is to create a prototype program that can be duplicated into other regions across the country. This prototype is comprised of a school, a dormitory and a clinic that will be named the ReDefine Life Center.

Our immediate objectives are :

1—To provide our nine kids with three meals a day, shelter, education and a stable life;

2—To secure a plot of land in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia to jump start our center. RDL has already received a memorandum of understanding with the City Administration of Bahir Dar for the city to provide 1,000 sq. meet of land. The reason for selecting this area is that 6 other villages, 3 out of which are without a proper school, surround it.  The government schools that already exist in these villages are not active and can be classified as derelict buildings.

3—To secure library cards from the University of Bahir Dar to allow our students to study at the only library in the town.

4—Build strong branches across the world and recruiting members.

5—To create awareness among community and religious leaders on the importance of education and health.
