What is the center |
The Redefine Life Foundation in collaboration with it’s sister organizations RDL-Ethiopia, RDL-Canada, RDL-Europe, and other Non-Governmental Organization (NGO’s) envisions building the state of the art facility named the Redefine Life Center (herein known as the “Center”) which will include a K-12 school, clinic, and dormitory for the street children of the community or surrounding community in which RDL operates. The Center will be created to promote education in the community and help the children who find themselves in the streets of Ethiopia.
Our intent is to provide shelter and education to children with exuberant amount of potential seeking opportunity to attend school and better their life. The beneficiaries will be provided with human and social care and more opportunities in order to increase their living standards, focusing on education. 50% of the students will attend the school in the Redefine Life Center for minimal fee and will come from the larger local community . This allows RDL to provide the remaining 50% of the space for the children we take from the streets. This also allows our children to interact with other children not from the street to speed up their development and reduce the psychological barrier. |

The facility will accommodate approximately 1,000 students of which 500 would be residents of the dormitory. The children who will occupy the dormitory will be the most deserving street children from the city and surrounding villages. The school will be easily approachable and will include all necessary facilities, such as laboratory, library, canteen and grounds for sports etc. Our current project focuses on actively communicating with architectural design organizations that can assist us in the initial phases towards building our center. |
